MonkeyCross geht mit Power in die Saison 2010

Der Deutsche Monkey Club (DMC) hat in Zusammenarbeit mit den örtlichen Vereinen das Paket für die kommende, 37. Auflage der Deutschen MonkeyCross Meisterschaft geschnürt. Der am 1. März veröffentlichte Terminkalender für die Saison 2010 umfasst – wie in den vergangenen Jahren – sieben Veranstaltungen. Saisonauftakt ist – fast schon traditionell – am 24. April im oberschwäbischen Schemmerhofen. Danach folgen Veranstaltungen des MSC Feuchtwangen, des RKV Kirchheim/Teck und des HMV Hepsisau im süddeutschen Raum. Das Saisonfinale ist für den 16. und 17. Oktober in Berching geplant; was gleichzeitig die MonkeyCross-Premiere für die Strecke in der Oberpfalz sein wird.
Bis Ende Februar haben sich bereits mehr als 100 Teilnehmer in die Starterliste eingetragen. Darunter befinden sich nicht weniger als 14 ehemalige bzw. aktuelle Deutsche Meister. Der Umstand, dass einige Vorjahressieger in höhere Klassen gewechselt haben, sorgt für zusätzliche Spannung. Doch auch Kurzentschlossene und Anfänger sind beim MonkeyCross willkommen. Anmeldungen sind jederzeit, auch noch während der Saison, möglich.
Das 2009 erweiterte Konzept mit sechs Hubraum- und Altersklassen
- für Kinder, Jugendliche und Erwachsene,
- für 10Zoll, 12Zoll und 14Zoll-Pitbikes,
- von 50ccm, über 110ccm und 125ccm bis zur offenen Hubraumklasse,
- und weiteren Klassen für MX (100 bzw. 200ccm) und Gespanne
hat sich bewährt und wird deshalb unverändert angeboten. Angesprochen wird damit die Alterspanne von 6 bis 60 Jahre. Es kommt nicht selten vor, dass Vater und Sohn oder Tochter gemeinsam beim MonkeyCross aktiv sind.
