Custom CB50 Monkey-Style

Tank gespachelt und eigentlich fertig zum Lackieren – Orange und Blau? Der Zylinderkopf hat einen bearbeiteten Ein- und Auslass, ebenso der Ansaugstutzen. Hier ist aber noch Feintuning notwendig. Dazu das gute Polrad… 130-56. Die Felgen der Dax St 50 sind ebenfalls rollfähig eingepasst – vorne mit einer 240 mm langen Achse und zusätzlichen Buchsen 15 mm auf 12 mm. So lassen sich nach Bedarf die Räder von 17 auf 10 Zoll austauschen. Der Sitz im Gorilla-Style stützt sich nicht an der Federbein-Aufnahme ab, sondern weiter vorn in Richtung Tank. Im Augenblick suche ich nach einen passenden Fendersatz. Für hinten würd ich gerne meinen originalen Dax-Rückleuchtenhalter (NOS) verwenden.
Update: Seat
Heute einmal versucht, den Sitz neu zu beziehen. Zum Testen habe ich mir etwas Kunstleder besorgt und dazu Leinen-Zwirn. Schablonen abgenommen – so gut es ging – und das Leder zugeschnitten. Dann fixiert und mit der Hand stückchenweise vernäht. Zum Testen und Üben… man merkt so am besten, was man beim nächsten Mal verbessern bzw. vermeiden kann.
Ein ausreichend grosses Stück Leder habe ich auch endlich besorgen können. Zum Glück ohne gleich eine ganze Haut kaufen zu müssen, denn daran scheiterte es bislang.
Das Prinzip eines individuellen Tacho Designs!
Für die CB50 habe ich eine Dax-Lampe mit dem zugehörigen 6V Dax-Tacho vorgesehen. Wie man prinzipiell einen Tacho ganz nach seinen persönlichen Wünschen gestalten kann und den Kilometer-Zähler zurückstellt, zeige ich auf den folgenden Bildern. Ich bitte die Ästheten unter den Schraubern nicht allzu hart mit mir ins Gericht zu gehen – man kann die Verarbeitung sicher noch “hübscher” machen… (ein paar Macken und Kratzer hat der Tacho leider bei der ersten Prozedur abbekommen)

Das alte Schutzblech, das wohl mal zu einer Kreidler gehörte, habe ich jetzt zurecht gestutzt und abgerundet sowie den Rück- und Bremslichthalter angepasst, den ich von der Apollo Dax noch übrig hatte. Endlich ist auch der Bremsdeckel der vorderen Dax-Nabe soweit abgeschliffen, dass a) das Rad jetzt mittig läuft und b) der Bremsanker genau in die Nase des Tauchrohres. Das Moped kann rollen! Jetzt noch die Bremshebel motieren und einer Probefahrt des “Rolling chassis” steht nichts mehr im Wege. Neue Reifen habe ich jetzt ebenfalls. Die alten abzubekommen wird die bekannte Würgerei werden…
Probleme macht mir weiterhin der Mittelständer, da er noch zu hoch und auch nicht richtig stramm sitzt. Ein Seiterständer wäre wohl generell die schönere Wahl… Auch für die Batteriehalterung habe ich noch keine richtige Lösung gefunden und sie deshalb provisorisch unter den Sitz mit Kabelbinder geklemmt.
Update – 18. August oder: Wie man es nicht machen sollte!
Ich hatte da mal etwas mit dem Tank probiert. Leider könnte ich nicht aufhören und die Finger einfach davon lassen und verschlimmbesserte immer mehr Details bis ich zum Ende so unzufrieden war, und alles wieder abklebte, neu lackierte und dann beim Abziehen der Klebestreifen Teile des Lackes mit abzog. Gut – dass ich so gelassen sein kann… Im Ergebnis sieht es jetzt so aus, das ich den Tank einspannte, die Flex mit runder Drahtbürste rausholte und den Tank wieder vom Lack befreite. Neues Spiel. Ich stand schon immer mit Lack auf Kriegsfuß. Jetzt wird der Tank wohl professionell seine Farben erhalten…
