Verzinkte Speichen lackieren

Beeskow (onlydax)Bei kleinen Felgen wie 8 und 10 Zoll fällt es weniger an, aber ab 12, 16 oder 17 Zoll wie für die SS50, CUB oder CB50 stehen Räder mit Speichen zur Auswahl. Vielleicht gibt es dann den Wunsch, diese zB. in Schwarz passend zu Felgen zu lackieren. Bei Umbau der CB50 habe ich genau dieses Prozedere durchgeführt.
Bei einem vorhandenen Rad wird dieses zuerst ausgespeicht, dann gründlichst gereinigt, idealerweise gestrahlt und dann entfettet. Hier empfehlen sich handelübliche Bremsen-Reiniger oder auch Glasreiniger, die entfettend wirken. Speichen werden oft in drei Varianten angeboten: Verchromt, verzinkt oder aus Edelstahl. Erstere sind für unsere Zwecke unbrauchbar, letztere zwar gut lackierbar, aber leider auch sehr hochpreisig.
Um verzinkte Speichen oder andere verzinkte Teile zu lackieren, müssen diese vor der eigentlichen Arbeit gründlich gereinigt werden. Dazu verwendet man eine ammoniakalische Netzmittelwäsche, die man wie folgt selbst herstellen kann. Auf 1 l Wasser kommen ca. 12 cl einer handelüblichen Ammoniaklösung, zB. Salmiakgeist mit 9% Ammoniak – gibt es im Baumarkt. Dieser Menge gibt man ein paar Spritzer eines Spül(Netz)mittel z. B. Pril zu. Beim Auftrag mit zB. Scotch Brite (Achtung! Nur mit Handschuhen!) entsteht ein feiner Schaum, der auf die Speiche einwirken muss. Anschließend gründlich mit Wasser abwaschen. Nach vollständiger Trocknung kann dann die Grundierung bzw. Farbe aufgetragen werden.
Da eine Speiche naturgemäß im Rad arbeitet und Nässe, Schmutz, Abrieb und vielem mehr ausgesetzt ist, habe ich mich für einen Hochglanz-Lack auf Kunstharzbasis entschieden. Dieser braucht natürlich deutlich länger zum Trocken und Aushärten, umzieht aber die dünne Speiche ähnlich einer Kunststoffhülle. Wir werden sehen wie lang es hält – glücklicherweise sind Ausbesserungen ja schnell gemacht. Nach der Reinigung klebt man die Gewinde bis auf ein oder zwei Gänge ab. Ich habe hier Tesakrepp genommen und so gleich einen kleinen Anfasser gewonnen. Mit einem Bürolocher drückt man noch ein Loch ein, biegt sich kleine Haken aus Blumendraht und ist dann fertig zum Lackieren. Mit einem weichen Haarpinsel wird nun der unverdünnte Lack aufgetragen und die Speichen zum Trocknen aufgehangen. Nach einem Tag sind sie schon einmal staubtrocken und können abgenommen werden. Wenn sie halten wie sie aussehen, ist das eine sehr kostengünstige Variante zum Sprayen oder Pulvern.
